The following Terms & Conditions apply to the use of the ClayPal website (claypal.co.uk). By using this website you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

user accounts

When registering you must provide true and accurate information about yourself (you must not create an account on behalf of another person). If any of your details change you must update the relevant section in your account as soon as possible.

You must be over the age of 18 to register for a user account. If you are below the age of 18 you must ask a parent or guardian to register for an account (using their details) and place entries on your behalf.

If you are representing a business or shooting ground, rather than a private individual, you must create a trade or admin account respectively.

We reserve the right to suspend or refuse a request for an account at any time.

trade accounts

registering a trade account

If you are representing a business and wish to place adverts on the ClayPal website then you must create a trade account rather than a standard user account.

You must be authorised to create an account on behalf of the business and all of the details that you provide must be true and accurate. If any of the business details change you must update the relevant section in the account as soon as possible. Any changes will be reflected in your adverts immediately.

We reserve the right to suspend or refuse a request for an account at any time.

admin accounts (shooting grounds)

registering a shooting ground

You must be authorised to create an account on behalf of the shooting ground and all details that you provide about yourself and the ground must be true and accurate. If any of your account details change you must update the relevant section in your account as soon as possible. You cannot make changes to the details of the shooting ground once they have been submitted, if there are any changes to these details you must contact us as soon as possible so that we can update the information shown on the website.

After you complete the registration form we will review all of the details provided (we may make changes to correct things such as spelling or any inaccuracies). If we accept your request for an account we will notify you by e-mail and create an 'admin' account for you, which will have access to create and manage events on this website.

registering additional shooting grounds

Once your admin account has been created you will be able to register additional shooting grounds so that you can manage multiple locations within one account. All new grounds will be reviewed in the same way as the initial registration and you will be notified by e-mail when you can start to create and manage events for the new ground.

We reserve the right to suspend or refuse a request for an admin account at any time.


There are no charges for advertising an event or taking entries through ClayPal. You must however, pay the card processing fees for any entries that are paid for using a credit/debit card. The fee is 3.4% of the total entry fee plus 20p per payment (+VAT).

To allow for entry cancellations and refunds, all payments made by credit/debit card will be processed and held by us until the last date of the event. We will send you the entry fees (less any credit/debit card charges outlined above) by cheque or bank transfer within five working days of the last date of the event.

When entering any event through ClayPal you must ensure that all details provided are true and accurate to the best of your knowledge.

entering someone else into an event

Most events allow you to place an entry on behalf of someone else. If you wish to do this you must make them aware and gain their permission before you make an entry on their behalf. When entering on behalf of someone who is below the age of 18 you must gain the permission of their parent or guardian.

withdrawing from an event

You can withdraw from an event before you have made payment or printed an entry form by logging into your account and clicking the bin icon next to the relevant event on the 'my events' screen.

If you wish to withdraw from an event after you have made payment, or printed an entry form, you must contact us by sending an e-mail to as soon as you are aware that you want to be removed from the event. If you have made a postal entry you must also contact the shooting ground or event organisers to ensure that they remove you from the event and provide a refund where appropriate.

All requests to withdraw from an event must be received by ClayPal before 17:00 on the day before the event takes place. Any withdrawals received after this time will not be accepted and any payments made will not be refunded.

If you withdraw from an event after you have made payment using a credit or debit card then there will be an administration charge of £3.50 to cover any card refund and administration fees.

BICTSF events

When entering any BICTSF organised events you agree to abide by the following conditions of entry:

  1. Competitors must hold current insurance covering all shooting activities by being paid up members of their Home Association at the time of entry and event
  2. In the event that any cheque is returned by the bank for whatever reason, an administration charge of £10 will be levied by the Federation against the competitor
  3. Competitors who are indebted to BICTSF for whatever reason will be ineligible to enter events run by BICTSF until the debt is cleared
  4. A competitor having entered a BICTSF event and fails to attend and/or fails to notify the organisers that they are unable to compete (without reasonable excuse) shall be penalised by either forfeiting their entry (if pre-paid) or pay a fine equal to the entry fee. Failure to pay this fine within fourteen days of notification will automatically suspend the shooter from all events held under the auspices of the Federation until such time as the Federation's Board shall determine
  5. Competitors with a query regarding an entry or wishing to withdraw from an event should e-mail secretary@bictsf.com please note entries cannot be accepted by telephone

When entering any BICTSF organised events you declare that:

  1. You know of no outstanding claims against you for other reasons which affect your insurable risk
  2. You will conduct yourself lawfully and safely throughout the competition
  3. You will abide by the rules and regulations of this shooting discipline uphold its reputation and maintain the public confidence in shooting as a sport
  4. You will not prior to nor during the course of the competition, take prohibited drugs, prohibited substances or performance enhancing substances
  5. You will not drink alcohol during my competition hours. You will not shoot the following day whilst still, howsoever, affected by alcohol
  6. You declare that the shotgun(s) you will use in competition is (are) in safe working order and the barrels are within proof. The cartridges you will use are commercially loaded and conform to the current regulations
  7. You acknowledge and accept that no liability attaches to the BICTSF Board and or its officers for any injury, loss or damage whether to your person or your property caused howsoever in the following circumstances:
    1. During travel by whatever means to or from the competition
    2. During any period of practice or whilst taking part in the competition itself
    3. During any stay in any temporary accommodation even if it is on a list of available accommodation provided by the BICTSF
  8. You have read and understood the above terms and conditions and the express exclusion of liability by the BICTSF and agree to be bound by the said terms and conditions and exclusion of liability for the duration and purposes of any competitions(s) and any preceding periods set aside for practice. You agree to abide with BICTSF's conditions of shoot entry (full details are available on the BICTSF website www.bictsf.com). Juniors (U21) must also have a parent or guardian's permission to allow them to take part in a dope test if selected by UK Sport's doping control staff

offering goods for sale

Whenever you offer an item for sale through this website you must ensure that:

  • the sale or use of the goods will not infringe any third party rights or be unlawful in any way
  • you are the absolute unencumbered legal owner with the right to sell the goods
  • it is lawful to sell and, if applicable, export the goods to the buyer in their jurisdiction
  • all details that you provide are full, true and accurate

We have no control over the quality, legality or safety of any advertised items and we make no warranties or representations that either the buyer or seller have the necessary licences to allow them to buy or sell the item. You accept sole responsibility for the legality of your actions under laws applying to you.

advert content

We will review adverts at our discretion and we reserve the right to remove any images or amend any content that we feel is inappropriate or inaccurate for any reason.

stopping an advert

Once an item has been added to the for sale section the advert will continue to show until it is stopped by the account holder or the ClayPal administration team.

When an advert is stopped it will continue to show on the website but it will be marked as 'sold or no longer available' and any contact details will be removed from the advert.

When an item has been sold, or you no longer wish to advertise it for sale, then it is your responsibility to stop the advert from showing by logging into your ClayPal account and updating the advert in the 'my adverts' section. You can also restart an advert at any time in the same screen.

spot the clay competition

entering the competition

The competition is based on an image that has had the clay pigeon electronically erased. To enter you must click on the image to indicate where you think the centre of the clay pigeon was before it was removed. A crosshair image will be shown at your selected location and the associated co-ordinates will be shown. These co-ordinates will be used as the basis for your entry and to calculate the distance from the correct 'winning co-ordinates'.

general terms

The competition will close on the date specified on the competition entry page.

The 'winning co-ordinates' will be determined by using the original image (with the clay pigeon in place) to select the location of the centre of the clay pigeon. A computer program will then be used to calculate the distance from the winning co-ordinates for each entry. The entry that is closest to the winning co-ordinates will be deemed to be the winner.

In the event of a tie (i.e. more than one person having chosen co-ordinates that are the same distance from the winning co-ordinates and being closest to the winning co-ordinates) the person that placed their entry first will be deemed to be the winner.

Our decision will be final on all matters and no correspondence will be entered into.

You must provide your real name and a valid e-mail address for your entry to be accepted.

The competition prize is shown on the 'Spot the Clay' webpage. The prize cannot be changed and no cash alternative is available.

The winning entrant will be notified by e-mail and will be given 15 working days to provide their full name and a UK delivery address for the prize to be sent to. If we do not receive a response within 15 days the prize will be forfeited and the next closest entry will selected. This process will be repeated until we successfully contact a winner.

We reserve the right to use the name, home county and photograph of the competition winner for promotional purposes.

We reserve the right to cancel or amend this competition at any stage.


The competition is only open to UK residents over the age of 16.

Multiple entries are not permitted.

No third party entries or entries submitted by agents will be accepted and the prize is not transferable.

The competition is not open to employees of ClayPal, their immediate families, agents or any other person involved directly or indirectly in the administration of the competition.

browser compatibility

The Spot the Clay page has been designed to work on all modern browsers with JavaScript enabled. The page may not work on some older browsers and will not work if JavaScript is disabled. There may be some minor discrepancies in the way different browsers show the co-ordinates that have been chosen. In all cases the co-ordinates shown will be used to determine the winning entry.


registering for the forum

Everyone is free to search and read the ClayPal Forum, however to make a post you must be a registered user. To register you must be an individual that has genuine and useful input to the forum, registering for the purpose of advertising or adding 'spam' material is strictly prohibited.

You must be over the age of 16 to register for an account. Any information provided during registration must be true and accurate and each individual may only register for a single account. Any false or duplicate accounts will be removed immediately.

For security reasons the registration/login process for the forum is separate from the rest of the website.

using the forum

The forum is intended for people to discuss topics relating to all areas of shotgun and rifle shooting. Any topics that have no relevance and add no benefit to the forum may be removed.

You must read and follow the 'Forum Rules & Guidelines' topic posted by the ClayPal Forum Administrator before making any posts.

You must not post any illegal, abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other content that we deem to be offensive or inappropriate. If you do so you will be immediately and permanently banned and we will notify your Internet Service Provider if we feel it is necessary. The IP addresses of all posts are recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions.

We reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic and to suspend or delete user accounts at any time and for any reason that we deem appropriate.

As a user you agree to any information you have entered being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, we will not be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

We take great care to ensure that the images, descriptions and prices shown on this website are correct, however we accept no liability arising from any inaccuracies or omissions in the content of this website. All information about events is given in good faith and is based on information provided by the shooting grounds and/or event organisers.


All prices quoted are in Pounds Sterling (£) and include VAT at the prevailing rate where applicable (with the exception of fees charged to shooting grounds which will have VAT added).

We reserve the right to change the prices listed and to end any promotions or offers without notice, we also reserve the right to add or withdraw any event at any time. All entries for events are subject to the availability of places.

Although we make every effort to ensure the prices on this website are correct, mistakes may sometimes be made. If we discover a mistake in the price of an event that you have entered, we/the event organisers will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of either re-entering the event at the correct price or withdrawing from it. If it is not possible to contact you, the ground will give you the option to pay any difference in price at the ground on the day of the event. If your entry is cancelled by the event organisers and you have already paid, you will receive a full refund.


We accept no liability and you waive any claim you may have against us that is in any way connected with a dispute you have with another user of this website and you agree to indemnify us for any losses or liability we suffer as a result of any claim against us by another user or any other third party as a result of your use or in relation to your dealings with such other user or third party including, but not limited to, all fees and expenses incurred.
